"Positively Postcards" by Bonnie Sabel Welte

A lecturer about quilted postcards at quilt guilds in five states, the author of "Positively Postcards", Bonnie Sabel Welte, will be presenting her book and tell us how she makes these treasures. During her lecture most of the 85 postcards pictured in the book will be passed around, along with a few albums of postcards that have actually gone through the mail in swap groups. They are in reality a small "mini art quilt challenge" on a particular theme. She will also bring a selection of kits for making quilted postcards and an "innards" kit for the middle and back of the postcards for viewing and sale. They are fun to exchange with other quilters and make wonderful greeting cards and hostess gifts.

"The Threadmonger" Judy Johnson

Judy Johnson, also known as the "Threadmonger", will lecture on threads by weight and fiber content. She will bring threads of interest to quilters to demonstrate and sell including Aurifil, Superior, Wonderfil, Valdani, Presencia, Sulky, YLI, other embellishment threads as well as threads requested by our Guild Members. Bring a notebook because she will answer all the questions you may have on the proper thread. She expects to fill six tables of thread to sell, all below their retail price.
Judy accepts cash or checks, no credit cards. We will pass out forms for members to fill in requesting specific threads. If you are interested in pre-wound bobbins, come prepared knowing what size bobbin your machine requires.

The History and Mystery of Baltimore Album Quilts: Lecture and Trunk Show by Jaimie Davis

The history of Baltimore Album quilts is a fascinating journey into an America headed for the Civil War. Discover how the industrial revolution, the struggle over slavery and the social and moral climate of the time contributed to this beautiful art form. Through stories, Jaimie will explore how the demise of the Baltimore Album quilts led us into the hearts and minds of the women who made them, and how this delightful mystery connects us with our sisters of long ago.
Jaimie Davis loves to engage quilters through stories during her lectures and classes. She has taught and lectured for over twenty years appearing before the American Quilters Society, the Northwest Quilting Expo and Quilt Connect USA. Her work has been shown in national and international exhibits.
A Visual of a Baltimore Album Quilt is shown prominently on her website, www.loopytulips.com
