September 2014 Meeting Minutes

QBTB held the regular meeting on September 24.

Membership: New membership cards have been made and new flyers have been made. If you can take some to a quilt store near you please let Sandy Dunning know.

Treasure Report: Chrystal is out of town, we have approximately $14,000 including the retreat money

Hospitality: Linda Peterson, Sandy Jarvis, Delores Slingerland, Karen Nelson, and Bobbi Ventur all celebrated birthdays.

Raffle Quilt: We have sold $1872.00 so far on our raffle quilt. We will be selling tickets at the Apple Squeeze on October 5th. If you can come and help let Mary Bradshaw know.

Programs: The "Block Party" block instructions and background fabric were passed out at the meeting. There is a traditional and batik block. Make and return you block at the Christmas party and a drawing will be held for someone to win the blocks.

UFO Challenge lists were made and the Number drawn was the number 4. We are all to make the number 4 on our list and bring back to show and tell at the December meeting. This is one way to get one of our UFO completed.

October: Speaker is Julie Chan Luoma. She will be speaking on angle play in sashings and borders.

November: 3rd Wednesday Karen Alexander a quilt historian will be speaking on the history of doll and crib quilts.

December: 3rd Wednesday Christmas Party UFO show and tell and “Block Party” drawing.

January: 4 corners

Old Business:

Website updating to make a friendlier user site. We have one bid for $600.00. Looking into how much it would cost for the site to be maintained. Also, looking for another bid.

Thrivent luncheon held on October 15th. Five of our members went asking for donations for charity quilts. We have gotten that donation for $1000.00.

Audit
A committee of three have volunteered to do the audit.. Carol Ritchie, Nancy Keay, and Joan Nisbet.

Our evening program was presented where members shared their other interests besides quilting.

Be thinking about Charity projects for next year.
