QBTB Guild Minutes
March 27, 2013 Meeting
Program:   We all enjoyed the presentation by Maggie Ball.  She enjoys doing variations on traditional quilts and working with children.   She shared the books she has written:
    Creative Quilting with Kids
    Patchwork and Quilting with Kids
    Traditional Quilts with a Twist
Maggie also told about the work she has done in aiding the establishment of a sewing center in Mongolia.  She shared many interesting quilts with us.

QBTB welcomed Mary Hart-Furman to our guild, as a new member.
Birthdays will be celebrated next month.
Spring Retreat is just around the corner on April 12, 13, & 14.
Reminder: Challenge Quilts are due in June
    Theme:   Hot Flashes
        Think simple and easy
Block Colors:   Anything from yellow to purple red on the color wheel or any combination of these colors.
Sashing and Borders:  To be done in black, white or combination of black and white.
Size:   48” by 60”
Complete the top by June meeting for Show and Tell
Quilting and binding to be done by September to donate to Mary Bridge.
Bags for Beads of Courage:    Approximately 300 bags have been completed.
Show and Tell:
    Barbara Kadden—Ice Cream Quilt and a purse
    Jo Ellen Ramsey—Used up scraps to create a quilt mainly in red, white and blue
    Mary Johnston—Scrap Quilt
Mary Bradshaw—Miniature Quilt done in 180 ½” squares and a quilt top in a range of purples

UPCOMING PROGRAMS:
    April 24-----Debbie Elherd from Carriage Country Quilts
        Quilting with Wool
    May 22—Visiting and Sewing
        Bring hand work of any kind or cutting and visit with fellow members
    June 26—Sherry Rogers-Harrison will present   Ink-Lique’
        (There will be more information on this next month with a short video)
