Quilters by the Bay Guild Meeting Minutes - Wednesday May 27, 2009 We opened our meeting with a request for a volunteer to keep the calendar for our 2009 Raffle Quilt - "Golden Jewels". We had no volunteers. This is an easy and important job and hope that someone will seriously consider taking over this job. Please let one of the officers know if you would like to take this position. We will be more than happy to help you and answer any questions. Raffle Quilt ticket sales: We have 560 tickets out. Mardell has sold the most at 40 tickets and Kim sold 20. Donna said we could store our raffle quilt at her store and asked for volunteers to sell tickets at her sale on June 6. We had 4 volunteer to sell tickets. Sharon Maes read over the proposed 2009-2010 budget. The budget was unanimously approved as written by the guild members. We have a balance of $4,627.50 in the checking account and all bills are up to date. We had 9 guests visit our guild tonight - which was very exciting! - several of whom will be joining our guild in July Happy Birthday to: Irene Failor, Jan LeBlanc, Dorothy Loveless, Shirley Lowman, Sharon Maes and Alice Tierney! Peggy Higgins from the Nominating Committee presented the nominees for the 2009-2010 Executive Board members: President: Mardell Buffington Vice President: Donna Devore Secretary: Marcia Kramer Treasurer: Sharon Maes We will vote on these new board members at our June meeting Retreats: Carroll Sharick and Tina Rounds reported on the 2009 Spring Retreat. Evidentially it was a total success and everyone had a lot of fun! The 2010 Spring Retreat is already in the works and will be held once again at Dumas Bay in April of 2010. Fall Retreat 2009: Rose told us that if you have signed up for the retreat this fall, you must pay in full by the June guild meeting. Our June meeting will be Pete Gaunce and his trunk show. The pink and red quilt (hearts & dresses) we all helped to make was recently sold for $1,300 and will be permanently displayed at the Multi Care heart hospital. Block of the Month for May: Twist & Shout square was won by Marion Murry. Roxanne reported that we have 2 new volunteers to take over this position: Carroll Sharick and Tina Rounds will take over organizing the BOM for 2009-2010 We had show and tell and finished with our garage sale.
